So Sweaty

I ran nine miles yesterday morning at 7 am. It was already in the low 80s and the humidity was 100%. There was nothing easy about the run even though I fixed a bowl of oatmeal beforehand and had a lemon lime Gu 45 minutes into the run. I ran alone since none of my peeps showed up. There were plenty of other runners out there but it was a day to go alone and feel it. Maybe I would have done better with the distraction of a runmate.
My back was sore all day afterwards from the pounding. I think I need to go back to my Asics Gel Kuyanos. I wear them on my speed days and they feel great. My other Asics feel like clown shoes - big and clunky. I have a couple hundred more miles to go with them but I know I have to go back to the Kuyanos to get the cushioning.

3 Cheers for Gel Kayano XIs! They have XIIs out now. Those are the ONLY shoes I can run in without getting sore knees.

I feel sad for you people who have to run in the humidity. The heat is bad enough without clogging it up with all that water. And sadly enough, if the sweat can't evaporate it doesn't do you any good. Maybe you Floridians could learn to pant?

I can relate to the humidity...oh ick! We live in it here in MN during July and August. UGH! Good job on your run!

Great job on getting the run done. I loved my Kayanos when I first started running. I'm now a Mizuno gal, though. :)

it's been unseasonly hot and humid here...no time to get used to it, we were just thrust into it. 98 degrees on the way home last night and high humidity, so i scrapped the run and decided to do it this morning. 85 at 8am. bleh. i was all foamy and left a huge puddle behind after i finished stretching.

i don't know how you guys handle running in this kind of weather on a regular basis. i'm too leaky! i can't drink fast enough to keep up with the fluid loss!

Great job on the run! I think humidity is worse than heat!
