New Haven Heroes

Team RBF took New Haven by storm (of the non-hurricane variety ... unless you wear Saucony's. I digress.)
I have returned to Florida from the perfect Connecticut running climate with all good feelings about an incredible weekend. My race performance was only off my goal time by six seconds over the 12.4 mile distance. I haphazardly decided I should run it in 1:46.0. I came across in 1:46.6. That was amazing in and of itself.
Much more to write about but it's late and I need to go to bed after a long day. Since my camera was one of only two operating on race morning (Lara's was the other) I felt obliged to post a pic or two.

Bill and Cruise Director Dianna feeling pretty darned good after the race.

Awesome race and weekend David, thank you for sharing your thoughts and pictures with those that couldn't make it this year.

Great race David! What fun it all was. And thanks for all your navigating and chauffeuring, I'd probably still be driving around New Haven, looking for a parking spot if it was left to me :)

Nothing like being dead-on in your pace goals. Nice job, David! Sorry I lost you at the beginning, I was damn sure you were ahead of me. Speeding up to try and catch up to you probably helped my pace a little. I felt really stupid when Dianna said you were behind me. Doh.

Fabulously great time and so glad to finally meet in person. If travel permits, this might make a cool race for next year. Hmmm, maybe I can beat Dianna if I start training now. :)

Thanks for coming up! Always a pleasure to run with you.

I was pretty sure I saw you about mile 9 or so, and would have caught up to say "hi", but was about to die...
